Omoyeni Anikulapo-Kuti, daughter of legendary Afrobeat singer, Fela Anikalapo-Kuti, has taken to social media to weep over the loss of an important family photo.
According to Yeni Kuti, the family photo was stolen by some unidentified people and has since not gotten hold of it.
Explaining further, she said she sees her family photo on social media always but the one who stole the photo has refused to return the photo to the rightful owners.
“It saddens me that they now post them on social media without returning them to the rightful owners. They are our memories that I would have gladly shared or put in our museums but now denied that opportunity” she wrote on her page.
Fela Anikulapo Kuti was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, composer, political activist, and Pan-Africanist.
He is best known as a pioneer of the Afrobeat genre, a blend of traditional Yoruba and Afro-Cuban music with funk and jazz.
The legendary musician died on August 2, 1997.
