“We Are Disappointed But Its The Right Thing” – Davido Expresses Concern Over The Cancelation Of DMW Concert


Nigerian Singer, Davido, has expressed worries over the cancelation of his DMW Concert, as he discloses the reasons behind his decision with an appreciative message.

The DMW convert was slated for the 28 of December, to have a wonderful Christmas celebration with his fans. In the early hours of 16th December 2020, Davido’s camp brought out a notice to his fans that the concert has been canceled until further notice.

Fans were quite disturbed as to what could influence a decision to let go of such a concert organized for his fans. Well, he has brought to light the main reasons in a lengthy post as he appreciated his people for buying his tickets and giving him support.

According to Chioma Avril Rowland’s fiance, letting go of this concert wa a hard thing for him to do but needed to be considered. He attributed his reasons to the high and overwhelming concerns of covid-19 in Nigeria.


The father of three explained that the health of his fans is of paramount importance even though they are disappointed. He considered it the right thing he has done and appreciated them. However, he requested them to observe the measures put in place to curb the spread of the virus and be safe.

His post reads:

FOLLOWING INCREASED AND OVERWHELMING CONCERNS WITH THE RISE OF COVID-19 CASES IN LAGOS, WE HAVE MADE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO CANCEL THE UPCOMING ‘DAVIDO PRESENTS DMW LIVE IN CONCERT’ SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE ON DEC 28TH. THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF OUR FANS, EMPLOYEES, AND ARTISTS ARE OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE SO WHILST WE ARE DISAPPOINTED, WE KNOW IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT PURCHASED TABLES. YOUR SUPPORT BROUGHT US WAY CLOSER TO SOLD-OUT STATUS THAN WE EXPECTED IN A VERY UNCERTAIN TIME!
